    Dubrovnik is nice, but this port can only be used by a tender, the main port for yachts is around the peninsula to the northeast. A must though is to visit the Gradska Kafana at the old port in the picture, a café with a seafront terrace. :cool:

    Hvar

    Hvar harbour in the 30th of august 2006.
    At the time the photo was shot Attessa III, Le Ponant, Club Med 2, A Wally B and a couple of other yachts were at anchor in the bay.

    Looks like a nice marina, but it only seems to hold about 70 boats up to maybe 60'. Would that be a fair estimate?

    Agreed. Just a small note though, Portofino can barely fit 5 150-foot boats (give or take a few feet). Anything bigger than that cannot enter the port. You can find another 10-12 boats in the 40-70 foot range. That's it! It's probably one of the smallest ports in the Med, but definitely one of the nicest.

    Portofino also lacks the crazy nightlife/daylife that you can find in St. Tropez (VIP Room, Papagayo, Nikki Beach, Voile Rouge, etc.). Shopping is pretty much limited to 15 or so high end stores, with the rest being local shops. Nice cafes and great restaurants! Try dU Batti, Le Pony, Le Magazin....all amazing local food with great crowds...None of the St.Tropez loud obnoxious nouveau riche crowd...

    Though I have to say, I still LOVE St. Tropez :)
