Hi all I understand that Princess yachts is sold thoughout the US as Viking Sport Cruisers but i would like to know if there is any problems in buying these Viking Sport Cruisers and shipping them back to Europe? Since the dollar is very low at the moment there is quite a lot of money to be saved but i dont know if that would bring any CE certification problems? If any of you could explain exactly how Viking Sport Cruisers change the boats that would be of big help! -I apologise if there is any spelling errors. I still have a few problems with english writting..
Your biggest problem will be with the electrical system. The VSC runs 50/250 and has voltage isolators installed. I suggest you contact Brian Crescenzo at Viking in NJ. I know of individuals who have done the electrical conversion from Europe to the US and while potentially expensive and time consuming, not a big deal. It may be even easier going from US to Europe since Viking specs a larger gauge wire for the US bound Princess (lower voltage but higher current for the same appliance). You'd need to look at appliances and whether you need to change them out to accommodate the voltage and frequency, but many appliances now are dual voltage/dual frequency. There may be non-technical reasons Viking will tell you not to (warranty, etc, etc) but there aren't many technically founded reasons. Boats travel back and forth all the time between the continents without concern when properly equipped.
Automated bots are not dumb these days, the way you edited his e-mail is just as likely to be harvested as a normally written or hotlinked address.
Thank you for your answers all! Changing the electricity is not the big problem. We have a few technicians who have done the change before very succesfully on Fairline Squadrons and a few Sunseekers. We just dont know if any problems may arise in importing Viking Sport Cruisers with the CE certification? Is hull-thickness and everything still the same? Or is any materials changed in order to make them cheaper - anything?

I looked at Viking Sport Cruiser closely. They take a base Princess and add to it, so you are actually getting "better" than Princess. Engine room bilge, for example, is gel coated. If you are going to buy because of the exchange rate, you should think about pulling trigger in the next 3 months...
