Hi, looking at a boat that is about a 1970 54' sportfish that was apparently from Germany I was told. The registration card has "BERM" on it for something like Bermiser, Bermiester. Anyone every hear of it and know where to find info? Also, I am on ohio side of Lake erie and if all worked out in aquiring this boat, where would I take it to have a complete refit? thanks for all help. ken
Doc Numbers baddog - If you can tell me the name and/or the present documentation number, I may be able to run the information through a data base I have access to. Sean
Welcome to YF, baddog. It would be interesting if you shared a photo of the boat with us. If that 'BERM' are the first characters of the hull ID No., BER is Bertram Yacht, and the next letter would designate the model by length. There is a 1977 50 Bertram out there named "Namaskar" which was a 46 (M) that was extended with a cockpit and was owned at one time by Dick Bertram. BERM0148M77H is her HIN. Be aware that sometimes the USCG Document for some boats have erroneous info, and that some boats may have been modified (e.g., 46 ---> 50') yet they retained the old HIN. Good luck, your humble boat detective
Now I am confused but here is info there was an old registration card i found from Maryland with the boat name "mickey finn" beside make of boat was 'BERM' and hull id was DLZ338420784. I am pretty sure still it is a 1970 54' with all teak front deck. thanks for any info!appreciate it! Ken
A quick run of "DLZ" shows that the boat was made by "Deleware Homemade Boats" but I cannot find any information on that company. The last four numbers of the HIN indicate that the boat was built in July of 1984. That's all that I've been able to get. Sean
Found info Thanks for lookingthis up. I believe I have the boat document number ifit will help further. DL8981L I am not sur if the 1 could be letter 'I'. also , DLZ is "Homemade" such as a one or two off boat? thanks you very much for info. Ken
