Salon side windows

I also have a cracked window on 1989 43 and would love to hear from anyone who has done this for help. Best forum ever and thank you in advance.

Every one I've seen has to come out on the inside of the boat which means any trim that overlaps the glass will have to be removed. I think mine will drop out the bottom by only removing the lower piece of trim.( 5/8" x 6" x 12' long.) then there is some blocking under there that made the old sliding windows fixed windows.

I have removed my wooden window frames on the outside by using a heat gun on low setting to remove paint and expose bungs. Careful not to heat the glass or other surroundings. Then I drilled a small hole in the middle of the bung and screwed in a wood type screw to push bung out. I removed all the screws and pryed frame carefully away. The window glass can then be removed and replaced. I would next time, paint the frames first before reinstalling and just touch up the new bungs. That would have been easier for me.

I have an 80 also.
I have had the windows out to tint them many years ago.
The intetior valance does have to come down but I found it pretty easy and straight forward.
Mine were factory windows in factory tracks.
The upper valance did not have bungs and the screw heads are exposed.
The windows came out easily.
The lower 1/2 board had bungs and are finshed and I did not fuss with that.
The windows tipped in from the top and then lifted out.
If yours are two panes and have no track and are embedded, I dont think that is factory and might be tougher to remove but either way the valance comes out first.
