Aye, us middle age guys can take a challenge now and then.
6 feet draft in the Bahama can be a challenge but doable.
I sailed all over there with a 5 feet, 6 inch draft and kept kissing the bottoms until I learned to read the water (color changes, easy in crystal clear waters, black and brown no good, gold ok)

If I was single I would make an offer yesterday.
(Wifey took care of me 30 years ago and probably saved my life, can’t ditch her now for a boat, but it has crossed my mind)

Yeah, toys are tempting and as we get older we realize life is short and getting shorter.
That there trawler looks good and would make a great liveaboard for Mr. Norseman.
But then I keep telling the Devil on my shoulder I have been there, done that but on a different type of boat.

All true, but at age 69 I have more choices than you
I am not into classic cars and bikes anymore, love the latest and greatest.
As for older boats, I like the lines, the elegance, not the tech or the maintenance.
Ideally a new but older looking boat would the best. (For me anyways)

Empty your bank account then sell wife and kids into slavery, then take a job..
I know wooden boats, I use to own one in the Virgin Islands (Horrible idea in a tropical climate)
I bought my woody in 1985 for $30k, put $30k into it, then sold it for $30k 3 years later. Easy math and I had no money and no kids to sell so I did most of the labor myself, the 30k went to parts and contractors, my labor was free..
Say after me: No more wooden vessels, no external wood on any boat I will ever own.

A yacht burned and sank today in shallow waters in Southern Norway.
The fire started in the engine room and rapidly consumed the vessel.
Rescue vessels arrived shortly thereafter and took care of crew and pax.

Yes, unfortunately this is another modern plastic and aluminum reef
No idea what happened but a 24/7 monitoring system with cellular and satellite connections should be included in 2026 as well as an automatic fire extinguishing system, pretty old tech by now.
Meh thinks this is a Swedish built boat and Lars should chime in with details.

Do you still need a Captains License to run an AirBnb with this boat?
