I was just reviewing the old thread yesterday and was wondering the same thing. Did the old PIA finish her?
I would say the volume of water inside the hull was sufficient to over come the bouyamcy offered by the enclosed volume and gravity took control.
Thank you brother. Again you have pointed out another example of this buoyancy/gravity thing. Sometimes it does confuse me. Hope your well.
Wow, that is almost tragic after all that work, money and pain to save her. We were anchored in Key West 2009 and dinghied over to take a look, she was battered and bruised but floating and ready for revival. Curious to learn what happened since then.. (If I recall correctly it all started not because the anchors didn’t hold in a bad hurricane but because the anchors came apart, as in disintegrated while doing their job)
Why that boat stayed in KW in the path of a major hurricane is mind boggling. Just like a few years back when a number of big boats were trashed in St Maarten when they plenty of time to run south.
Word is... the owner is getting older and has lost interest in keeping the project afloat. Prior to this latest leak, the interior had been restored but he never had plans to re-mast the boat.
