Just caught a segment on WPTV News regarding detours and road closures along Flagler Drive in Palm Beach. Local residents have been complaining about excessive commute times due to road construction and the boat show is compounding the problem. To anyone attending the show, give yourself some extra time.

    Actually both Y
The Brightline and Tri Rail have a station about 2 blocks from the Palm Beach show. It is by far, the best way to get there.

    Best route is:
From 95, take Okeechobee East exit.
Then get on Australian North, then East on Banyan.
This route takes you right to several parking garages and lots.
I usually park in the lot or garage just before the tracks.
When it's time to leave, it's a quick exit back to 95.

Brightline prices are ridiculous now!! Used to be worth it, maybe if coming from FLL, but if you live closer, not so much.

Tri-rail is almost as fast from Lauderdale, more stops to get on, and really easy. I don't know why so many people avoid it. It's VERY convenient for the PB boat show and the PB stop is a block North of the Brightline's station. Both a 2 block walk from the show.

Opening day traffic was light on the docks but heavy on the roads for the 43rd annual PBIBS. The show is larger this year with a noticeable increase in brokerage boats and the number of superyachts in attendance.

While PB is a relatively easy show to park and walk, the price of parking has become a cash-grab for the local garages. Parking west of the tracks is $40-50 and rises quickly with each city block leading to the show. I paid $60 for a garage about 5 blocks away but only because I was running late for a meeting. Tomorrow I’ll park west of the tracks.

If you’re going to the show this weekend be aware that some of the big boats may depart the show early on Sunday due to inclement weather. Strong winds are expected and superyachts could put a lot of pressure on a temporary infrastructure.

With the 2026 Palm Beach show in the history books, I'm reminded of the many discussions we've had on YF projecting that PBBS would become the premiere South Florida show. I think that time has come. Given fuel prices, interest rates, parking rates and being at war, the PBBS was definitely a success.

Saw a few new boat builders. It's great to see fresh thinking and diversity in the market but there are so many brands to choose from, a buyer could find themselves suffering analysis paralysis! The size of these shows tends to compound the issue. Just an idea, but it seems to me that segment-focused events would not only favor the consumer, but would be more cost effective for manufacturers.

And finally, this year I saw something I've never seen before, women roaming the docks in packs, much like wolves searching for their next meal (ticket!). I can't help but laugh when I see the entitled types trying to take title of some fool's future.
