Looks like Oceanco has been bought by Gabe Newell. Details of the acquisition have not been released though. The company confirmed that the move is intended to support its long-term vision and strategic development. The Barwani family has been the last owners and they will still stay on the yachting scene but under them, Oceanco was able to launch landmark superyachts like "KAOS", "KORU" "Bravo Eugenia" and "Black Pearl". Gabe Newell has a networth of around 9.5 billion dollars and is better known in the roles of president and co-founder of the video game company Valve Corporation.
Oceanco has moved to acquire company Alewijnse. They are an electrical systems specialist. “Electrical systems integration is at the heart of modern yachting and maritime operations, and as part of the Oceanco Group, we can build on our expertise and lead in a rapidly evolving sector,” commented Gert Bravenboer, CEO of Alewijnse.
