Anyone know brand Cabo used for factory underwater lights back in 2005? Or possibly what bulb for replacement? 2005 43…. Defiantly not LED’s but big housing with ballast.
They didn't. They were not a Cabo option in 2005, they were aftermarket. You're going to have to look at the back of the light or the ballast or whichever for a name. Or post pictures. Sea Vision in Fort Lauderdale was very popular back then.
Thanks Capt J.. it seems all the 43’s ive seen have the same lights in the same location, hence my thoughts of it being a factory option
No a matter of who rigged the electronics/finished the boat (dealer etc.). For example Hi-Seas technology probably did 80% of the East Coast boats that were sold for underwater lights and electronics.
You can remove the old school lights and ballast boxes and install new generation LED lights in existing holes with no modifications necessary. I have done this on my last two Cabo’s.
Sea Vision is what came on our boat; dunno if factory option or aftermarket installation. AC version. Needed a new incandescent bulb, got one from Sea Vision... along with some help understanding their directions for replacement. Would have preferred their newer LED fixtures and they have suitable replacements... but we've only used them exactly once in 3 years for about 5 minutes, just to test that new bulb installation. Not worth the money (for us) to fully replace... especially considering labor... 'cause I can't get there from here. Might think differently if I could do the work myself. -Chris
I installed Lumitec underwater lights on my Cabo 40 last haul out. Working perfectly! Lumitec SeaBlaze X2 Underwater Light, Bronze, Spectrum RGBW, One Size
We have Sea Visions on the 110 I run. They are LEDs but SV has an upgrade kit to convert earlier lights to LEDs. I haven’t good luck with Lumitec Seablqze on an earlier boat. They rarely lasted more than a coupe of years. Cheap but you get what you pay for
I had the Lumitec Typhoons on my 40 and they were excellent. I hoping to swap out the sea vision lights with their LED conversion kit
