  1. 80-meter Plus Superyachts Under Construction
In recent years superyacht owners have been building large custom yachts above 100-meters but recently the 80-meter bracket has been booming. There are a flurry of builds currently in the region of 79 to 88-meters by various builders. Feadship 83-meter Project 'Solent', Turquoise 87-meter Project 'Vento', 80-meter "Rafale' also by Turquoise, 88-meter Project 'Faith' at Dunya Yachts. There is also 86-meter CRN Project 144 in build. Abeking & Rasmussen have 79.95-meter Hull 6516 in build as well. Below is a look at the Rafale Project by Turquoise.
  2. Feadship just released a bit more information on a project that it has under construction called Project Solent. This vessel is an 83-meter sporting a design from a designer that you do not associate with large motor yacht design. Malcolm McKeon was responsible for the exterior design while the interior is the work of Mark Whiteley Design. McKeon is more noted in the the world of sailing yacht design but in recent time they have endeavoured in some motor yacht design. Recently they had a collaboration with Benetti. The yacht is currently under construction at the Feadship Royal Van Lent yard. Although the yard updated on the existence of the project and the fact that it was sold they still did not released much information. Delivery is expected for Summer 2027.
  3. Turquoise has several yachts under construction at present. One of them is the 87-meter Project Vento. This one is in build and expected to be delivered in 2026. She has a design that was penned by H2 Yacht Design. She has a 13-meter beam and a bold blue finished colour on the hull. In fact that colour is bespoke one that maybe familiar to you as it is associated with the Ferrari race track and called 'Tour de France Blue'. This aspect was a distinct owner request.
  4. Another 80-meter build is also from Turquoise in the form of Project Rafale. Turquoise is set to present this vessel at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) in the next few days. It appears to have a 7 cabin layout for the guests and owner. Interestingly, the guest accommodation is all located on the main deck with the master suite on the upper deck. Jonny Horsfield of H2 Design is responsible for the design marking yet another collaboration with this particular yard. Special highlights include a touch-and-go helipad on the bow that can be converted to a basketball court when not in use as the helipad. On the aft main deck there is a pronounced 6.5-meter glass-walled main pool.
  5. Another 80-plus-meter build currently ongoing is Project Faith at Dunya Yachts. This is an 88-meter vessel under construction also being known internally as DY012. This one will be delivered to her customer in 2028. This is also another H2 Yacht Design but this time they are working on the interior. The exterior design on Project Faith is penned by Tim Heywood. A large main pool is located on the aft main deck while a big jacuzzi is on the forward portion of the sun deck. The 2,560 GT interior is already spacious for her owner who will have their apartment on the forward upper deck complete with a skylight!
  6. CRN also has a 86-meter under construction known as hull 144. This vessel offers approximately 2,700 GT with her 13.5-meter beam expected to be delivered in 2026. The exterior is done by Andrea Vallicelli with Naval Architecture by Ferretti Group Engineering Department. The displacement vessel as you expect in made with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure.
  7. 6516 is also in the works from German custom superyacht builder Abeking & Rasmussen. This is a 79.95-meter build on course for delivery in 2027. Her keel was laid towards the end of November 2024. She will be quite voluminous with an estimated internal volume of 2,999 GT. With a full-displacement steel hull and aluminium superstructure the yacht is to have an interior by a UK firm. Her builder has not publicized alot of information about this particular construction and as a result we will have to wait until 2027 for her to reveal her self to the world.
