I'm looking at this boat https://www.boats.com/power-boats/2009-bluewater-yachts-65-legacy-8979182/# Anyone have experience with this particular boat? Or same model? Thanks
Good lake boat or inland rivers although I know a couple who cruised theirs from cape cod all the way to The Exumas. Picking their crossing days very carefully. I ce always thought the name Bluewater was the most ironic boat name ever picked
Probably a perfect boat for a fair-weather boater...(me!) Might take a trip to see her in the next week or so.
There was another boat brand by Bluewater from the 70s and early 80s. High free-board, near trawler hulls. Sadly, they disappeared without any history, linage or data left behind.
QSM11S. Dry exhaust manifolds in that cramp space? The only engine pic shows fried turbo blankets and dirty near 3000 hour engine next to pristine carpeting. I remember working on one of these where the Detroit 8.2s were under the master bed and master head/vanity cabinet. Nightmare to service. To free up room to access the stb clutch, the mini tub/shower pan had to come up. Oh, the gen-set was rite under the helm/salon deck. Can I talk you back into looking at that 12V92 Hatt?
Ha... I want it all I guess...space...walk around engine room. But it is fun to search for the perfect boat. I'm thinking like I did when I bought my RV...buy your last boat first. What about something completely different...like this: https://www.boats.com/power-boats/2001-cheoy-lee-expedition-70-8705166/
24 year old Chinese built boat… what could possibly go wrong ? tbsi thing looks extremely top heavy for a trawler with only a 5 1/2’ draft. Better moray the stabs never fail if you re planning on cruising the east coast or Bahamas you don’t need a (wannabee) expedition boat. Any quality 50-70 MY yacht will work fine and will be pretty economical at hull speed.
