I've run both the 52' Manhattan and the 55' Princess extensively. The 52' Manhattan is a better seaboat. The 55' Princess can be downright scary in a 4-5' following sea at times.......will roll like something else if the waves are at 5 or 7 o' clock. Engine room has much better access in Sunseeker (height) and a few other things. Both are too heavy for their hull design.

CJ, everyone familiar with the forum knows that Sunseeker is your usual answer to folks looking for whatever boat.
And I could argue with that in more ways than one, but it's better to agree to disagree on that, and let's just leave it there, shall we?

Having said that, since the OP said "mainly I want a roomy flybridge and a 'couch' type seating on the bow" and was considering an L590, suggesting the 'Hattan 52 as an alternative is beyond a joke! o_O

The be honest not that much, as the space of the 52 then renamed as 55 Manhattan with only 2 inches more of bathing platform is not much far off to the L590.
Both the Princess F55 and Sunseeker 55 Manhattan are incredibly spacious for that size, although the appearance and super high free board especially of the later make you understand how they did it. The 2012 to 14 Manhattan 55 is also a very nice boat, with much sweeter lines.

Although if I was the poster I think I would put the last generation Azimut 60 as top of the list in this 55 to 60 feet dimensions.
I always heard good things about that yacht.

Have you ever been on a Searay L590? A 52' Manhattan? A 55' Princess? Have you ever been out to sea on any of them? Probably not. I've run all 3 boats and at least several hundred miles. I've run 9 or 10 L590's for Searay themselves way back when. Not sure what OLD information you're looking at, but the later model 52' Manhattans have both couch type seating on the flybridge AND bow seating and table, as does the 55' Princess.......and both are quite roomy yachts that used their space wisely, both are better quality than the SeaRay L590, and both are still in business. Considering searay only did 1 MAN boat, I wouldn't touch it, and the triple zues boats were giant pigs when it came to performance and efficiency. The Manhattan 52' or 55' is the same exact size as the Searay.

    Searay L590 LOA: 58'10
    52' Manhattan LOA: is 58'01
55' Princess LOA: is 55'3 LOL

Instead of posting subterfuge, why don't you post some actual advice for the OP. Oh wait, you don't have any.

While reading this thread, I did actually think of four different brands/models that I would consider before getting out of bed to check out those Searay, Sunsqueeker and Princess.
And the very simple reason why I didn't mention any is that I don't think the OP would stand a chance to find them in the US, so what would be the point?

But ref. what you call "subterfuge", let's say you are right on the money, and I don't have any "actual advice for the OP" because I know nothing about boats.
In his boots, would you rather buy a S/skr just because that's what someone with an undisclosed vested interest recommends even to folks who are looking for a ketch, or make up your own mind?

I have NO vested interest, I don't really care what the OP buys, nor do I have any affiliation to any yacht builder or brokerage house. But here in the U.S. those are his best choices for what he wants (FB layout and bow seating/table). Perhaps Riviera builds something that suits his needs also, but I am unaware of it and their FB's are a bit more fish like. A 60' Hatteras MY would be best quality but doesn't have the bow seating/table. Azimuts, Prestige, Marquis and Galleon much lesser quality. 4 Italian boats with Italian electricity that cannot be found in the U.S., aren't a choice or recommendation. So unless you have something to recommend for the OP, again WHY are you here (in this thread)? Sunseeker builds a solid yacht that's usually a very good sea boat with a good build quality that has the unique options the OP wants.

Well, let's leave aside for a moment the fact I'm as entitled to say that I'm not a Sunseeker fanboy as you're entitled to reiterate (for the Nth time, in multiple threads) that you are.
After all, the old saying about what opinions are like is an American one, so I'm sure you know it.

If nothing else, in this thread I also corrected something wrong that you posted about engines.
No big deal, but at least this is a fact, not an opinion.

I also thought that SR only did one MAN L590; but there are three for sale right now and I know of one other. Seems a lot of the later 590's were built that way as the triples/pods were never that popular. I only mention because they (590's) are a fair bit cheaper than the Princess F55. I will check out sunseeker. I really like the Sunseeker 76 yacht, but out of my price range and getting a little intimidating to single hand.

I am pretty mechanically savvy and have no issues working on small items on the boat, just do not want engines/pods/electronics, etc that I cannot get parts for.

You may need to really soul search and figure why they are a cheaper..
vs the original price level, this could be an indicator of what is yet to come.
jason fifield and Robertoman like this.
