  1. Scout 670 LXS Launched
Scout Boats now has the official bragging rights to having the world's largest center console. That is because they recently launched the Scout 670 LXS (Luxury Sport Model). The yacht is part of a new LX series from the builder that will eventually comprise of the LXS, LXF (Luxury Fishing) and LXC (Luxury Cruiser). All of the variants in the LX Series share a common designer in Harrison Eidsgaard. However, the first to launch is of the LXS variant and it is a beast.
  2. Powered by five (5) Mercury V-12 600 horse power marine engines they are expected to produce 3,000 horse power worth of juice leading to a projected top speed of 60-MPH. A fast cruise of 40-MPH is still blistering and a range of approximately 500 miles. The first 670 LXS model was scheduled to complete in January 2025 with full production beginning immediately following.
  3. As many of our YF readers will know, the center console war has been aggressive for the last few years with manufacturers simply pushing the boundaries as to how large they can build an outboard-powered center console. HCB's 65 Estrella has now been dethroned numerically. The 670 LXS was known at Scout while it was under construction as Project 'Everest'.
  4. Some numbers on the Scout 670 LXS include an overall length of 66.9-feet, a beam of 16.2-feet and a draft of around 41 inches (4-feet). For the interior it appears as there are three choices the yard has baked-in and they are called 'Salt', 'Coral' and 'Neptune' which essentially dictates how light or dark the overall interior atmosphere is.
  5. In terms of accommodation a three cabin layout can be chosen with the VIP, twin and Master suite V-berth all on the lower deck (hull). Below also has everything you need to make this vessel home for a few days. This isn't just a day-runner or weekender. It has a 500 mile range and also remember besides being a comfortable ride, it also can be a fishing platform- lots of places to drop your fishing rods in and the side aft bulwarks also drop down to make the space even larger but making it easier to land fish.
