You may be referring to the conversion of "Ocean Ness" that is also a 70-meter (Project Master) presently being converted at Icon. Supposed to be completed in 2024. This build at Lurssen is another vessel that will have a bit of an extension to take it to 70-meters, this one is "Ocean Falcon".

Ship particulars at the time of M/V Ocean Falcon:

    Classification society: Lloyd's Register
Ship's managemant: (International Yacht Corp) IYC USA
    LOA: 66,8m
    LPP: 60,6m
    Breadth moulded: 18m
    Draft: 5,4m
    GT: 2295
    NT: 689
    DWT: 2200 t
Builder: Hull no. 735, Zamakona Shipyards, Spain
Keel laying date: 12 August 2013
Date of build: 7 May 2015

Current draft looks like less than 3m. Those 3 meters that Ocean Falcon is currently short of 70m is probably going to be a stern platform/beach club.

It's a bit confusing....many websites are reporting that as an ICON project, even Superyacht times and Boat International.
I'm not sure I can post the articles of these websites, but I reckon I can post these two...

It's the very same yacht....or I have to change my contact lenses.

And..if you look at the ICON web page there are 2 conversion projects...UFO and MASTER..so..there something that doesn't add up

Multiple of Havyard 820 model vessels were made for Atlantic Offshore. Atleast 5 AFAIK. Check their previous names and connect the dots. ;)

As far as I know there are only 3 vessels of Havyard 820 Project: Ocean Marlin of 2014, Ocean Osprey of 2014 and Ocean Falcon of 2015. All three are in active service. The latter now is under conversion.

Now it has arrived in the Netherlands! Lurssen doesn't seem interested in carrying through with a refit.

"Since September last year, the combined Lürssen teams have been diligently revising and evaluating the feasibility of the conversion of the Offshore and Rescue vessel Ocean Falcon as initially designed. After a thorough review, the Lürssen engineering team identified a number of challenges that make it difficult to fully meet the expectations of all parties involved. Therefore, the project decided to leave the Lürssen shipyard."

That's a news....I remember Alberto Perrone, director of yacht services at Lürssen saying: "We are well-positioned for such a conversion – the outstanding engineering capabilities of Lürssen and our experience is of great benefit for the project."

Project UFO is now on the market for sale. At this point around 18 million EUR has been invested into the project and is now looking for a new owner to continue the project.

I don't think prospective purchasers will be lining up at that price.

So, What has been done? Who's doing it?
Or an un-touched ship that nobody is wanting to convert?
