    Hi everyone.
I have been enjoying and learning from these forums for many years. I have a 1980 Viking 43 DC. and some of my electronics are not state-of-the-art, but really good components. My Icom IC- M27 VHF radio had developed a really dark screen that was getting very hard to read. I did not want to replace it with a newer unit as it is fitted into my overhead electronics box. I googled the model number in the faint hope that I might find a new one. No way, but that search led me to this site "Gauge Saver" <support@gaugesaver.com>
They actually fix things! I sent in my VHF to them, and as soon as it arrived, I was informed of its arrival.
I have always had a problem with certain screens when using my polarized sunglasses, so I asked them if there was anything to be done to avoid tilting my head to see the readout. They replied that they do put the new screens (or films) in at the correct angle.so I would not have this problem in the future.
Long story short, I just wanted to make you guys aware of this company. I received my VHF back within 4 weeks with an invoice for what they quoted me. (If they find anything else that needs fixing, they will contact you.) I now have my Icom back. and it is even better than new.
I have enclosed a photo that they sent me to confirm my satisfaction before I paid them.
All the best to you all, and thank you!

PS. They do MANY other repairs like this, so if you have a failing screen, give them a call, or email them.

I used them to repair my Simrad autopilot screen and they did an excellent job at what I thought was a reasonable price. I would definitely use them again if needed.

Gaugesaver is rite up the road from me. I tired quickly of their attitude when trying to converse with them.
