  1. Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) Day 2
Further yacht news has emerged from the 2024 edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). Day 2 of the show with news of a new AB95 from AB Yachts along with the Maiora Exuma 36. More details released on the Bering 165 flagship explorer and Bering 105. Oceanco unveils several new interior designs for their Simply Custom yacht collection.
  2. AB Yachts used this year's Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show to showcase their brand new AB95 model. Firstly, the AB95 is going to be offered to customers in two variants. The first variant is similar to what the larger AB110 is offering which focuses on generous social areas and according to AB Yachts, "distinctive sporty technology". The second variant on offer is the AB95S which as the name suggest is more sporty embodying the characteristics of a racing car. Either way, the the design is by Marco Casamonti/Archea Associati.
  3. This model embodies a new style of cruising – powerful, safe, efficient, noiseless, and immensely fascinating," Capasso enthused. "We are certain the AB95 is going to meet, and exceed, our owners’ wishes and requirements". The AB95S is for clients who seek speed and performance. The regular AB95 is also a very fast and high-performing boat so this alone should suggest the extra being incorporated into the 95S model. Therefore it will have technologically advanced propulsion system and instead of the forward raked bridge glass it will be the more sportive backward raking style.
  4. Maiora announced the Exuma 36 as well which is a 36.90-meter monohull with exterior by Quartostile and interior by Acube Design. She is a swift performer too combined with her shallow 1.4-meter draft she is perfect for zipping between Caribbean anchorages to change scenery having lunch in one location and dinner in another. Top speed is expected to be 35-knots. "This model’s brilliant performances and extraordinary onboard liveability are quite extraordinary on the market", Daniele Caronna, Head of Sales said. "This new 36-metre model is definitely going to stand out from the crowd of traditional yachts."
  5. It is open-plan living while blending exterior and interior at the same time for the ultimate in guest comfort and liveability. The aft main deck cockpit area which is traditionally more closed-off on other designs of a similar size, has open volumes uninterrupted by aft by solid bulwarks instead present either glass or clear visuals out the back of the boat. It is easy to see why this area was designed the way it was.
  6. Just take a look at the proposed view from the main saloon out the back of the yacht, zero obstructions to the view. Additionally it helps that the sofa arrangement seating both in the saloon and outside in the cockpit are low-profile aiding in the seamless views. The palette of colours serve oranges for colour pop but a blanket of cream and whites as the base with black detailing.
  7. Bering Yachts revealed more about their new 165-foot (B165) flagship. While not officially unveiling at this show after being presented to the world at the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) early this year, more details are now available. It is the coming flagship of the yard at 49.4-meters LOA but the current flagship in operation is the 44.2-meter "Heeus" which is from the B145 line. Valentin Design has penned the exterior with a forward superstructure-centric design. This gives a long aft main deck for a large pool as well as storage of the yacht's two primary tenders and toys. Launch those tenders to the water and fold down the side bulwarks and the aft main deck becomes one of the focal points on the exterior.
  8. There are essentially five decks onboard this near 50-meter. The B165 will be run by dual CAT C32 diesels permitting a maximum speed of 15-knots. At a 12-knot cruising speed the range of this vessel is extended to around 4,000 nautical miles. Two units are said to be under negotiation but have not been sold at the time of writing. Additionally, the Bering 105 is a bit of an evolution out of the B88 model. However, the majority of the changes came in on the lower. As they want to push it in the direction for charter vs private. Four of these units are said to be at different stages of negotiation.
  9. Oceanco revealed its Simply Custom platform last year and since then it has grown with the number of designers showcasing their work using a tested Oceanco technical platform. While many of the designs focused on the exterior designs, interiors from some other noted names in the industry along with some not-so-familiar names have been revealed. Luca Dini, Zuretti, Studio Liaigre, Dasha Moranova Designs, BURDIFILEK have all revealed their own interior designs for some of the existing yacht designs within the Simply Custom platform. Below is the dual-level beach club facility proposed by Luca Dini.
