Not a good season in the med!

the 90 meter Lurssen ICE has hit a Numarine in Turkey. Looks like the Numarine was tied stern to shore, or maybe towing, but in any case the Lurssen hit the boat first, not the line…

Since the Numarine is Turkish flagged, the Lurssen crew may be in trouble :(

pics found on social media, I don’t believe this is an old story

    This is absolutely insane.
The bridge deck is enduring one of its worst summer seasons.

And Ice has also the tender door open....

Ah, I see a stern line now.
The Numarine is Tide to something on her stern.
And Ice is not stopping ??

AIS shows ICE making a loop into that cove. Weird. Even if it seems dangerous to tie the stern so far away, ICE hit the numarine, not the line anyway. Has to be a control malfunction

    And the Numarine survived.
That will be an excellent advert for Numarine

Unless it is some bad malfunction this collision does not make any sense at all, and its a miracle no one was injured or dead.

I agree. If something was not working, why wouldn’t there be crew on the bow with fenders or yelling at least

or blowing the whistle...like Lady Moura did.

I told you the only explanation is...the Gremlins! They set yachts on fire, take the helm to play boat crash and sail at full speed while the tenders' garage doors are open.

There's also that element to consider in this accident. The starboard garage door was open, and its floor is near the waterline, posing a significant risk of flooding.

There is no doubt that something strange has occurred or...just Gremlins...

Nah, somebody was operating the big boat with his (or her) head up his /her arse.
They already came in under full control doing spins in the bay under blue skies with unlimited visibility and light winds.
Possibly a complete blackout like the container ship in Baltimore..?
    If not, no excuses.

Seems the powers that be (their web site) does not like Gremlins.
    Martins are probably out also.
I do appreciate Norse's first line in post #10.
As this is often the issue.

I like it too...the Norse's first line in post #10...and if that was not the case...oh guys...maybe I know why they didn't blow the whistle... Someone made a mistake by blowing something else...
    So no blame in Gremlins.

After her sale it was sold to an African from Equatorial Guinea. Kerimov used to have connections with the yacht before.

    Shocking...there are no other words.
I just want to stress the fact that it is known that Ice has Azipod drive units installed, so rudders cannot be blamed. I also recall reading an article mentioning 2 things about ICE (ex AIR) a killer-switch installed in the bridge to face emergency situations and a crash-stop emergency button that steers the Azipod 180 degrees, keeping positive propellers rpm during the entire procedure. The most important part is that during that, the captain has full control over the heading and direction. So I don't know what to say...

Maybe the collision avoidance system malfunctioned. Beta testing...

It's not a collision avoidance system. The article on BI mentioned just a button that activates the automatic procedure. That's all.

Has the ICE captain dusted off yet?
