Another new 50-meter Heesen build is in the works at the Dutch yard. This one is for an avid yachtsman who intends to captain the yacht himself. The intention is also to keep the yacht in fjords, rivers and canals and therefore that will necessitate the reduction of her air draft via a folding main mast. The exterior design of this 50M STEEL is by Clifford Denn while the interior is by Luca Dini. The project name is 'Oslo24' and will be built as YN20150. The yacht will be extensively hybrid offering three cruising modes; silent, economic and cruising. Top speed should be 15-knots with her MTU 8V4000 M63s and cruise at 12-knots. Each MTU engine is linked with a 135kW Danfoss electric motor facilitating the previously-mentioned three cruising modes. This yacht should be completed by March 2024.
Construction update...hull and superstructure of Project Oslo24 joined on the 24th of September. Heesen is delighted to confirm that the construction of YN 20150, code-named Oslo24, is on schedule. On September 24, the hull and superstructure were joined, following the installation of the two MTU 8V 4000 M63 IMO III diesel engines. The owners, keen sailors, selected the Heesen hybrid propulsion system, for the ultimate luxury of silent cruising at up to 8.5 knots.
Interesting that she is registered in Switzerland! That's something you do not see everyday for larger yachts.
Also, she looks the sleekest of this class from Heesen. Also notice the aft decks are fully enclosed too a sign perhaps where she is expected to cruise.
