    Anyone have any knowledge on this manufacturer?

    our 600# lift has a pneumatic shock to help hold the weight while lifting. It no longer helps. It appears Costa Mesa location is gone. Any ideas on where to buy parts for this lift?

    to confirm, it does not help with lifting load, just lifting it by hand out of the storage location!

    Yes I heard they closed up shop. I think Maurer Marine also in Costa Mesa sold parts for them. But honestly I don’t know if they’re in business anymore either.

    The shock is nothing proprietary to to Brower. I bought one a few years ago from McMaster Carr. Remove and measure, there's a "weight" number on the cylinder.

    I had the contact info for the guy that ran Brower, Russ something. He is now semi-retired, but is more than willing to help. I can't find his info now but I believe I posted it here in response to a prior question similar to yours. You could probably find it with a search.

    Try contacting Basin Marine in Newport Beach. They have access to someone who used to work for Brower and my guess is they can help you (not sure if it's the same guy referred to in post #5). He just helped me with my Brower davit (I think, haven't tested it out yet).

    I just reposted my search for these parts. Sorry, I could not this original post. I finally got parts removed from the crane and there are no part numbers visible. I’ll make a trip to Maurer Marine. Maybe I’ll get lucky!

    It is the piston that helps hold the weight of the crane. It assists with lifting the crane from the storage position into the lifting position, while you set the pin in the main support for the crane arm.

    10 years ago it worked well, and so did my shoulder. Now both are wore out and I cannot lift it by myself and set the pin without risking decapatation

    Have removed the piston and no part numbers or original manufacturer shows. Trying to find something at McMaster Carr as suggested above. Will also try Maurer Marine as well. Any suggestions or known part numbers appreciated.

    I bought my replacement at McMaster but that was 5 years ago so the actual one I bought is a memory.
    Measure the one you have, I'm guessing you're going to need around 100-130lbs of lift.

    Thanks for input. I can measure the length and start with searching that weight capacity. what is the proper name of this piece ?

    I have an old 2001 era Brower Davit with a 24V Rule winch motor that is going bad. I contacted Maurer Marine and they were kind enough to give me Russ's number. He used to be one of the owners of Brower. I spoke to him and he was very informative although there are no remaining parts readily available for these lifts.

    Mine was acting up a while ago.
    I removed it and took it to a good starter repair shop.
    They repaired it and it's worked great. Simple solution if you haven't broken any proprietary parts.

    I did fix my original problem with a new shock from McMaster-Carr.

    I did have another question regarding my Davit. It lifts great, but when swinging it back on board it has an awful squeak. I have no drawings on how it is assembled so I not sure how to get to the bearing or??? Whatever it is riding on to swing in. Any ideas on how to lubricate the base?

    My 800# Brower is fifteen years old. I had an electric motor shop rebuild the Rule electric motor a couple of years ago. Cheap to rebuild. On my unit, instead of a bearing, there are what seem to be some sort of nylon or similar material bushings. I could not get an oem replacement so we fashioned one out of starboard. . Still working

    Sorry I do not. As I recall, loosened a retaining bolt at the base and then lifted the arm assembly off. The bushing was visible and could simply be pulled out by hand.
