Well, I'm clearly not blaming the head itself for the yard's screwup. I'm merely lamenting this year's troubles with the yard.
spot on I have two of elegance on my 53 including one full size/hone bowl. Bullet proof and as a live aboard they get a lot of use.
Your compressor runs your horns, your wipers, and you should have an air service port on the bridge from which to pressurize your hynautics as needed.
Looking at the third picture down from the top, that appears to be a pneumatically operated vacuum generator. This would need to be confirmed but very possibly why you would require the air compressor running for your particular toilet system to be operational.
Indeed. I have four of them aboard. Ripped out the old VF system. With everything macerating at the head, there aren't solid items trying to make their way to the engine room. It's about as trouble free as one can hope for in a marine environment. Winterizing the heads aboard shouldn't be of issue, because you don't want this vessel "freezing" lest you return to her in the spring and find paint and faring popping off the aluminum as it moves significantly during freezing temps coupled with UV interaction. This isn't a vessel to winterize and walk away from...
New hot water...I had two 30 gallon HWH aboard, one that fed each side of the vessel as to provide hot water to different zones and have plenty of quantity. I removed them and replaced them with new like-kind. Then I realized there was plenty of hot water aboard, and the water heaters took up too much space. When it came time to replace the generators, I seized the opportunity and replaced the new hot water heaters with two 10 gallon Force 10 electric marine. Not only can a generator each keep one side hot while running, but they're tiny and really heat well.
I think I still have 3 or 4 of the units (or what’s left of them) on the aft deck waiting to go to the dumpster. What parts are you looking for? I’ll try to take some pictures when I’m there tomorrow and send them to you
Pascal - how far can they pump? I’m my 40 the head is about 4 feet of pipe to the tank. On the burger the two yes state rooms ass could be as much is 30 feet of pipe to get to holding tank.
The evaporator units. 7, 12, 16 or 24Kbtu. The part that goes in the cabin with the blower/fan. I have some condensing (compressor) stations already. I want to ad more split A C to our Bert. I lave learned and repeated (I'm stupid); the newer self-contained units make to much noise.
Ahhh. I see that in your previous question, about the evaporator units. I’ve only pulled two of those out so far in the crew quarters. They were both shot. One of them was in a location definitely had some water penetration issues and the other got soaked in hydraulic oil from the helm, orbital pump when we departed from Miller back in January, and the steering crapped out As I get into the other cabins. I’ll set them aside.
Ok, then they would definitely work here. We are changing from the 5 head layout to 4. One in the crew quarters, one in each guest stateroom and one in the master. I want to get away from the original holding tank anyways, and put in a poly tank. I don’t like the waste being on the aluminum bottom plating. I need to make room for a tank in the ER.
a-head sewage systems. All poly. Create a small lift station in the bilge at the location of the gravity drain feed, and lift it to a new outboard placement of the a-head system, above the ER deck. All of your sanitary feeds have to be checked for gravity pitch. There shouldn't be a problem anywhere until those lines enter the ER. From the aft they both run outboard under the twin bunks in each guest stateroom.
The drain feeds from the heads to the ER run through PVC straight-pipes. They will gravity flow to the ER. Macerating the waste at the head is the key to success. No solids to get stuck along the way.
Question for anyone here running an older Burger - are there any compatible davit/winch replacement controllers out there? The originals are in bad shape and are pretty clunky. Looking for something that will plug into the original outlet on the davit.
well, depends what you have. Mine is a Marquipt 1500, and obviously they’re still in business for parts etc.
Yeah, I guess I should have been more descriptive. The two davits are the original ones from the Burger Factory. And here is a photo of the 9 pin connector.
To my eye the plug appears to be a Marquipt style device. Place a call to Ron at Burger and request any details he may have regarding the original installation. I'm 1980, and the davit is still aboard. Marquipt 1500, referred to at the time as their Tender Lift.
