News: Project 515 Progresses In Build

Project 515 continues to make progress while under construction at Burger Boat Company. This new yacht is the second hull in the company's 180-foot (55-meter) series. The first hull, under construction for delivery in 2024 has been sold to a client as far as we know, the second hull is still for sale. The second hull is available for purchase with a current delivery time-frame of 2026.

Project 515 like the first hull is designed by Gregory C. Marshall but is likely to have a few differences and also allowance for a bit of customization should a customer join the project. There is an aluminium superstructure and an aluminium hull on the second hull as well. It is being built to ABS Class with an interior by Burger Boat and exterior by Burger and Gregory C. Marshall.

The 499 GT vessel will be able to sleep up to 14 guests across 6 cabins with berthage for 14 crew. It had an overall length of 54.9-meters and a beam of 10-meters with a draft of 2.4-meters. In analyzing the plans for the second hull, what is interesting is that the 6th cabin is actually on the main deck just behind the master suite on the port side. That is an aspect to the guest arrangement not usually seen. The owners suite plan also features an actual balcony on the starboard side.

The first hull has a custom 11-meter tender that will be stored inside the transom and will be launched or recovered by a custom stinger system. Project 515 is being built to take a 7-meter main tender and a rescue tender. The 7-meter tender will be in its own transverse garage aft of the engine room. Dual 2,266 horse power CAT marine engines are onboard to run this twin-screw diesel yacht to a top speed of 17-knots. The range is estimated to be 4,000 nautical miles at approximately 11-knots. Construction is expected to wrap-up in 2026.
