hello all, seeing the ads for Hull Shield ultrasonic bottom growth inhibitor?? .they don't claim to eliminate fouling but greatly reduce ..anyone with some experience trying?thanks
thanks I see the 2019-2021 thread..any newer ones I missed?..I guess I can deduce if not alot more positive testimonials since than is probably abit to nichy to determine where it works well, and doesnt..thanks
As I think I wrote before I know a guy with a 14m steel Pilot Boat in the Med, he swears by the benefit of one of these systems.
I don't see active pilot boats gathering much fouling. I always thought a retired pilot boat would make a fine personal boat. Just short of a MLB, they seem to be able to handle some slop pretty well. Never had the chance to check this out. A steel hull may conduct the rattle from these pucks better than a plastic boat. I remember a plastic Neptunus we used to service. Standing on the dock, you could hear the different zones of pucks rattle from this hull. Some of these pucks were mounted on the strut thru bolts and rudder post tops. Running gear was the first to foul. Just maybe,,, the dark waters of the Ortega/St Johns rivers, berber/shag carpet critters and barnacles could be entirety different than the fouling in the Med waters. Or , the punk critters here like the noise and in the med the better behaved critters like the quiet. Or, that steel hull has some other variables in play? Galvanic currents? Not a dock queen? Or, just a whole lot of different LUCK.
