Hi guys, it honestly feels like I have searched the whole web but I can not for my life finde these hatch stays - They are made from aluminium and have plastic fittings. The two alloy tubes fit within each oter and are coupled by a rubber band within the tubes. If you open the hatch the rubber band aligns the tubes and when you come came back down a little it holds the hatch. See attachment. Anyone knows what these are called and who makes them? Greatful for any help/pointers Thanks, Felix.
Never seen these but I ve had the spring ones and didn’t like them. Tap them at the wrong moment and the hatch slams down on your hand or head. why not replace with gas lifts?
Thank you Pascal! With these the mounting points are the same distance away from the hinge. For gas struts I would need to relocate the mounting points, like to avoid that if possible... Agree with the springs - with theses ones here that can't happen.
I have asked them but am not very confident. Bought wiper blades thorugh them and they did not fit. Replaced them foc to be fair though!
You Sir are my absolute hero and if I ever make it to Newport Beach I will buy you a beer!!! Thank you ever so much!!
I need to investigate these for my cockpit freezer doors. I have those dang spring type and have had my hand slammed more than once and those hatches are freakin' heavy.
If you're not concerned about new mounting locations (filling old holes) I'd still prefer gas struts to manage the weight.
Too lazy and it would be visible (wet bar cover & map locker) - enough work as it is on the old barge THANK YOU EVERYONE!!
