Si-Go was a gorgeous 60-70 Ft. Huckins with no canvas anywhere. Varnished Teak Superstructure, white hull with blue waterline stripe. Mint condition. It was always docked at Champlins Marina in Block Island in the same spot always: the left end of the gas dock when you were looking toward Great Salt Pond. The owner was a short guy in his 70’s with a dark tan, blue shorts and never wore a shirt. It was sad to see Si-Go for sale in Mystic a few years ago in horrible condition. Great memories, that was my favorite boat. I was there when the pictures of Dorisam were taken. It docked on the gas dock, and the captain had to take the electrical outlet on the dock apart to modify it so they could connect. Doris yelled to my mom that our 32ft. Owens across from them was “a beautiful boat too”. We were traveling with Pete Camarano who owned “Asiatic” which was always docked in the private single slip next to Si-Go. He gave Doris a big kiss, he was the Braen’s personal attorney.

64’ Seafarer Si-Go is now owned as Sea Horse and was moored in the Great Salt Pond this past summer. She’s headed to Huckins for some much needed TLC over the winter, and as the grandson of the 6’3” “short guy” in his 60s I couldn’t be happier for her to get the attention she deserves.

There are a couple of threads on here with extensive history and photo documentation of her through the years.

I’d be glad to re-share any stories from our family history with her, or stories I recall from time aboard Sam and Doris Braen’s Broward.

Please keep us up on the schedules and work. Maybe during one of my yard visits we may meet and I can steal a nickel tour.

That would be up to her current owner. He is also here on the forums.
