Espen Oeino has given project 1601 a striking design with extraordinary features and which is dominated by planar surfaces, straight lines and angular corners. The crispness of the exterior styling suggests a geometrical precision that permeates every facet of the yacht. Her interior is designed by Dölker + Voges and echoes the same design themes as her exterior. Cornelsen & Partner is acting as Project Manager in the Owner’s team throughout the construction process. The yacht went down the slipway on May 26th 2020. Although we have to wait until next year to see this yacht reappear it is pretty safe to assume this is the successor to "Skat".
Hopefully it isn't long before she launches as she has been scheduled for launch later this year. This is one I cannot wait to see. Will be interesting to see if Espen has his project number on the side like the current Skat does...nodding to that Naval look.
Due to covid and last minute changes (interior spece and colour, transportation of exotic products) the delivery date is 2023.
Of course we know this is the new Skat but if you still had doubts...the grey colour and the white and blue boot matches the 2002-built 70-meter.
Yeah she looks nice...Lurssen put out two boats in 2 days...first time this has happened? Although by right 1601 was supposed to launch in 2022.
https://www.shz.de/lokales/rendsbur...burg-neue-superyacht-1601-ausgedockt-44129219 Yeah...busy week for Lurssen.
And the question we wanted answered as to if she would have a pennant number on the hull like her predecessor...we have that answer in the above link... 1601 (which naturally is the build number).
Lurssen has posted a full image on their Instagram account: https://www.instagram.com/p/CohPSw8LAJL/?igshid=MDM4ZDc5MmU= The second image is the money shot. (not sure if that's viewable if one isn't logged in...)
