Any 50' Posts for sale? [Found]

As much as I appreciate CR experience and competence, I actually think his guess (he did say "I wonder...", in fact) is not correct in this case.
To my knowledge, MAN always measured engine power according to DIN standard, which is at the flywheel but with all engine accessories installed (and within certain temperature limits for fuel/air/raw cooling water, but that's irrelevant in this context).
I never came across official MAN tables or drawings reporting 860hp for their D2840LE401 engine, or other different power numbers related to any of their engines aside from the DIN ones of their spec sheets that I previously attached, for that matter.
But if you are aware of something like that, I'd be curious to see it.
BTW, even if usually each engine model is often mated to a particular gearbox model, boatbuilders ultimately chose whatever they prefer, as long as it fits the flywheel housing size - i.e. SAE 1, in most MANs.

Over here in the U.S. during the 2000s, the U.S. builders (mostly Sportfish) jumped back and forth between CAT and MAN with whoever every year or two with had the best HP to weight ratio and newest design, best computer controls, engine controls and displays. It went from CAT in late 90's with the 3406's, 3126's, and 3196's, 3412's but then some of those had a lot of aftercooler and other issues. So they jumped to the MAN 1050s (which pretty much fit where a 3406 did) and 820's in the early 2000s, but then the 1050's had a lot of issues early on, then back over to CAT for the C18's and C30's, then a mix between MAN and CATS mid to late 2000s once MAN got into the common rails.

Was looking at Yachworld the other day. Saw a 50’ that looked nice , at a reduced price due to mechanical problems .
Depends on what and who you know, could be a boat for you. Probably a highly negotiable boat…?
