Reason 1069 why boating is getting so expensive…

One of the contractor I ve been using for years called me today to ask if we were a private or charter vessel. I replied we were mostly private except for some charters in the Exumas and asked why he wanted to know

he explained he has to submit reports for his workman comp insurance detailing whether his guys were working on private or commercial vessels. This red tape costs him about a day of work… not sure if it’s per month or per quarter, I didn’t want to twist the knife in the wound!

I ll keep that in mind then next time I gripe about a bill. Bureaucrats are going to kill us.
