    we did a two hour sea trial today running at incremental speed for 20 minutes each between 1000 and 2000 RPM. We need to put a few hours on it below 2000 and then do another sea trial all the way to 2300 this time

    ran nice and smooth. We topped at 21.6kts at 2000 on 110 gph which is pretty good for a 116 footer. Flat water on the bay though, about 10-12’ deep

    the only glitch of the day was this morning when I went to fire up the port engine to check hydraulics and steering. Starter spun but didn’t engage. They replaced the starter when they got in. It was only 15 months old (replaced last year when we rebuild port).

    it also had a nice little sticker made in china…. Luckily I had kept the old one and had it rebuild. Turns out that MTU is having starters made by Prestolite in china …. And the kicker is that parts to rebuild the older MTU starters are no longer available.

    Yes pretty much. We do most trips to the exumas at 1100 anyway, with occasional runs at 1800/1850. I rarely push harder. 1800 gets us a solid 18kts

    That certainly makes life easier. And quite honestly 18kts with that size boat is pretty darn good.

    Sorry, I missed your question. When going to or from the exumas, we may do most of the trip at 1100, that’s about 18/20 hours depending on whether we re going to Normans / Highborne or Gtown

    Not sure off hand what is the QL4 service. The inframe we did in July 2021 was about $200k. This full rebuild was $310k or so.
