As mentioned in the Yard thread, we're rebuilding the stbd 16V2000 M91 on the 116 Lazzara I run. I'll post pictures in this thread over the next 3 weeks or so. Starting with the bare block, camshaft bearing install and camshaft install...
New crankshaft getting in. Made in India, inspected in Germany, shipped to Michigan and then to Miami.
close to 4000 hours, no maintenance records. Unknown hours on oil at survey. But the price was right. We did the port engine last year.
Thanks Carl. Going to post pictures everyday. They just got the circulation pump in, tomorrow raw water pump, flywheel then liners and pistons. They re hoping to have the engine back in place by this week end and ready to align.
Boatyard pictures and now engine rebuild pictures! Pascal gets my vote for MVC. " Most valuable captain "
Uh?? Align the engine/clutch to the shaft flange? Sounds like a great idea when there is no hoses, exhaust and much other junk in the way. But,,, (yea,, I'm a but guy) the weight and compression on the mounts will not be correct with a light block. In my little thoughts; Build up as much in engine weight as you can before aligning the shaft.
Raw water and circulation pumps are on along with engine mounts. Cylinder liners installed. Pistons going in tomorrow
Is that one of those non-rebuildable water pumps? Where is your old pump? Worth it's weight in gold if not leaking. Oh, your purchasing extended warranties??
Liners being checked before installing pistons. Rear hub being pressed in and flywheel on pistons going in
