Experience with shipping 50’ express cruiser from west coast to east coast

    Hi all, I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with shipping a 50 foot express cruiser from one coast to the other. Been looking for a specific boat and found one in great condition at a great price on the West Coast but would need to ship it to the East Coast. I read that it might be more difficult to ship a boat from one coast to the other as most of the shipping vessels are foreign flagged and only ship from another country to the US but not within the US. Also any estimates on the price to ship a 50 foot boat from one coast to the other?

    Check with Joule Yacht Transport to see if she can be trucked. If by sea, I just successfully shipped a yacht with Cross Charter Yacht Transport. Ask for Paul. As long as one port is US and the other foreign, it works and can usually be fairly convenient, obviously depending on departure city. For example, if in WA, then Vancouver isn't too bad.

    Thanks for your suggestions. It’s a 48” sunseeker with a hardtop so I doubt it can be trucked but I’ll look into it. The boat is in Seattle so I guess shipping it from Canada isn’t out of the question.

    Most transport ships load/unload in Victoria B.C. which is only a few hour run depending on where in Seattle the boat is.

    Thanks. I’ve sent out a few emails to see if the boat can be trucked but I think it’ll be too tall.

    Is it a Portofino 48? If so it should not be an issue to truck it. You will need to strip the accessories off the hardtop and pull the shafts. Going that far and through that number of states you will want a well experienced transport company.

    I just went through this process albeit the opposite direction and used Paul with Cross Charter. You will load in Victoria or Nanaimo. Either is an easy run from Seattle. Paul normally has a ship every 5 to 6 weeks going either direction.
