Just found some old photos from 1988 of the Sultan's yacht and huge tender from when we were his guests at his private marina in Salalah, Oman.

He always had to have 2 of everything onboard the tender. 2 Bertram SF, 2 Cigarettes, 2 Landing Craft, 2 Helicopters etc......

We were also greeted with a fly-pass by a couple of Tornado jet fighters.

Sorry Fish, these are Jaguars, one double seater and one single seater. Oman never had Tornados. Tornados have variable wing sweep. Love that smaller yacht. Looks very similar to my old Feadship. I think that large shadow yacht was build in Germany. Can't remember that ugly large royal yacht.

Fish, You were pretty quiet lately. All ok with You?

Katalina.jpg Yes, sorry they are Jags and not 'Nados.

The smaller yacht is the 220'/65m Katalina II we built at HDW in 86/87 for a Around the World dive trip. The late Owner was involved in Omani Defence.

The Royal Yacht was built in Italy as a cruise ship to sub-yacht standard for security reasons at the time. Only on fit-out was the yard told to to finish it as a yacht.
