We're a 2004 Sea Ray 480 Sedan Bridge. I'm finding many of the parts we need for maintenance (door knobs, drawer latches, etc.) on FPmarine or BoatOutfitters. BUT, I still have parts that are really hard to find, and not very common. Example: Helm AC Vent (Sea Ray part #769422). Are there other sites that have some of these hard to find parts?
Sea Ray tells me some parts are available through their dealer network. I've not stress-tested that yet, but a local dealer has admitted he could get a few things for me. Sea Ray has also given me info on the OEM for at least one part. That OEM fabricated the part for me, cheap, good folks. -Chris
I'll give it a try. So far I've had very poor luck with my local dealer. "We don't work on diesels" "We don't work on sliding glass doors" "Your pump needs to be replaced? We have room on our schedule in a month" Maybe Sea Ray directly can be more help. Thank you!
Well, Sea Ray itself has been very forthcoming with info. And then I've not paid to much attention to actual dealers. Diesel work by me, or by a certified tech associated with that engine brand. Any yard can replace a pump, and using an original isn't always necessary. Ditto doors, usually; nothing typically magic about those unless you need the lockset... and getting those isn't often all that difficult. Et cetera. And/or talk to Ralph. -Chris
Thanks! Yes, Beach Marine in Jax. I've been able to piece together most of what I need (Dometic pump rebuilt this week, friend in the window business fixed the door). I have MAN diesels and don't have a tech yet (or a need), but planning to have John Oster come do a walk through with me. For the most part I've been able to get work done, just a tough time finding things like these AC deflectors. I'm sure I'll have to rig something, but they are in the helm dash so I want them to look like they belong.
