Two Oceans is a South African-based builder and they launched the first Two Oceans 850E Power Catamaran last year. For those who may not know, this builder was established in 1989 and specializes in manufacturing large custom power and sailing catamarans that range from 60 to 150-feet. For this particular build, composite sandwich construction, using epoxy E-glass with a PVC foam core and carbon fiber for local support and reinforcement structures was employed.

This vessel is the 13th large custom-made catamaran made by Two Oceans and she takes her design lines from Du Toit Yacht Design. The interior aspects was also done by Du Toit including the interior layout, furniture design, décor and finishes. Of course this was in consultation with the owner and reflect the owners’ lifestyle. There are wider hulls to allow for transverse layout in the owners cabins toward the after but overall there are enough cabins in the hulls to sleep eight guests on the boat. Two forward crew cabins can sleep up to four crew members.

She carries 9,000 LTs of fuel divided into 6 tanks on port side hull and 6 on starboard. With this fuel capacity feeding a pair of Cummins 610 horse power diesel main engines the range is over 3,500 nautical miles at approximately 10-knots but the vessel can sprint to a 22-knot top speed when needed. She can carry adequate tenders and toys as well. The Two Oceans 850E has a 5-meter custom RIB with a 70 horse power outboard engine as well as a 6.1-metre custom RIB with two 270 horse power outboards and two Yamaha Wave runner jetskis on a custom-made aluminium chock above the starboard trampoline. Large hydraulic cranes facilitate easy launching of the tenders and jetskis.
