    I just compiled a bunch of footage I collected over the last 3 years into this video showcasing some of our favorite stops in the Exumas.

    Warning , once you cruise the Exumas, other destinations just won’t cut it

    Impressive cruising ground indeed. You made me envious, particularly at this time of the year!
    Aside from the nurse shark pet grooming bit, that is.
    I'm well aware that they are docile, but I'm not sure I'd go that far...

    PS: is it a Dakota, the airplane wreck?

    Yes. While it s usually referred to as a DC3 that one was actually the military version aka C47 Skytrain

    there has been a few love bites over the years it s always been people swimming within a group of them.

    That looks like it doesn’t suck :):). Makes me think I should ship my boat over to the east coast when I retire and spend a few years over there

    Nice footage. I miss my days on shallow draft boats. We still go there, but can't quite get in to the good spots with 3.1m draft.

    We're there right now with a 5' draft and two tenders with less than 2' draft. Also many kayaks and paddleboards. We're normally marina people, but doing a "Pascal" style trip this time. Just a short escape.

    Also, picking up a sailboat for a few days on Monday.

    Lol. we've been here since dec 19 and have spent only 5 nights at the dock

    5 1/2 is great for the Exumas. Over 5 1/2 and there are place you can’t go or have to play the tides.

    Our normal is 95% of nights at marinas. Of course, normal was last seen over 2 years ago. We normally will anchor off islands during the day but spend the night at marinas. However, this trip, we'll only go to marinas if necessary for fuel. Mainly for the Ribs.

    Right now, anchoring as not interested in land exploration plus being exceptionally careful re: Covid 19 Omicron Variant as we have a very important wedding scheduled on February 13.

    The only boat we have that we can't cruise freely in the Bahamas is our 130' which has a draft of 6'6" and even with it, we can cruise 90% of the islands without problems.

    I have flown on Dakotas many times as a child in Africa. From Southern Rhodesia to Northern Rhodesia. From Lusaka to Bazaruto (Mozambique) to go fishing in the Mozambique Channel. Wonderful memories of this workhorse of the skies!

    Still the most continuous used air frame of all. The Palatka area sky divers still use theirs several times a day. What a treat to see their bird over head and fools jump out.
    Who in their rite mind wants to jump out of a perfectly good air craft?

    Likewise. Family owned one in the 1960s. Had it configured for private use to fly throughout northern Canada. To fishing and hunting properties we owned with airstrips we built. Sat right seat occasionally. Not fast but could carry a load! Great fun.

    It is a beautiful airplane as well. There is something about the way it looks. Another one that comes to mind is the Beech 18.

    life’s too short for ugly airplanes. And cars. And boats. Speaking of boats, tonight’s sunset:

    We enjoyed seafood tonight on board. Fish all caught yesterday. Four of our crew, all female, took one of the RIB's and went fishing with good luck and to our amazement, Belle and I even caught a couple while casting from our swim platform. We are decidedly not fisherpersons, but a diversion, and some of our crew love fishing. No real knowledge among us of the hot fishing spots, just some easy catching.

    I remember my last work in KB Bay near 17/18 years ago. Near freeze in Miami.
    I was floating a boat off of the feather beds that night. I did not want to get out of the water.
