Well I finally found a new JetSki on our summer cruise in Annapolis. They are virtually sold out all across the US. Yesterday we loaded it on top of the flybridge with the davit, and we blew a hose inside the lifting arm. Fluid fell everywhere, but the JetSki made it safely on board. We are going to leave the boat for a couple weeks in the Chesapeake and I would love to find someone that can fix this. What are the larger boatyards around here? Any marine hydraulic guys?
Maybe somebody at Bert Jabins Yacht Yard in Back Creek. Or J. Gordon, also in Back Creek (Eastport Yacht Center, I think). Or there's a Zimmerman's at Herrington Harbor North in Deale (see the top end of Herring Bay, on the charts). Or maybe Hartge's Yacht Yard in Galesville (West River). All the kind fo places to call first; not sure whether any can handle your length... but then some probably travel, too. -Chris
If it's just a hose, why not just call an industrial hydraulic supply company. They'll have a name of a guy that will go to you. All hydraulic repair guys travel, nature of the business.
Saw a YouTube on davit being repaired on a 58 ft Hatteras at Worton Creek Marina. Looks like they are a full service yard on website.
Vibration issue. Unrelated to Davit. Was hoping to leave the boat and get lots done but doesn’t look likely.
