Quiet Fresh water pump wanted. I currently have a shurflo dual pump system, but it's pretty noisey. It seems that one of the pumps is louder than the other. I don't have a reference if it is normal or not. It's very annoying at times. Would a Groco style Sr. or Jr system be a quiet alternative? I already have a new 1 gallon accumulator tank. Thanks,
Are you looking for a 120V / 12(24)V combo, or solely DC? I'm using this pump as my primary and am happy with it. Pretty quiet. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L35VRLS
Most diaphragm pumps like the shurflos can be a little loud depending on how they are installed. The grundfos John suggested is pretty quiet Another great 120/240 pump is headhunter mach5 but it s expensive. One issue with either of these is that the inlet is 1” and I doubt your boat used that size inlet hose. It should work but may cause issues in the long run. I have a Groundfos that I m going to install on my 53 but need to run a new hose first.
If it's DC, which I think it is that you have. The Jabsco variable speed 6 or 7 GPM ones are pretty quiet but not the best, headhunter makes a DC pump that is high volume and good. The best, but also very expensive Giannesci pumps are excellent. As for AC, Headhunter or Grundfaus.
Very happy with new Marco water pump installed this summer, very quiet, variable flow. Very satisfied with tech support also. https://marco-pumps.shop/
Thanks for the responses, I ordered the Headhunter DC unit from Citimarine. I will let y'all know how it goes once I get it installed.
I would also install a jabsco 6-7 GPM with a seperate switch or breaker as a backup since you have 2 now.
I wish I had seen this earlier. I have an unneeded spare that I could have sold you at a great price.
It’s great for a 24vdc pump - best I’ve ever had. I did add an accumulator tank to the system, but that says more about the plumbing runs than the pump. My current boat has the headhunter Mach5 120vac which is even better. The DC unit I have is a spare from the last boat.
They're good pumps, make great pressure and even pressure. They did have a run of them several years back where the circuit boards went bad.
