A really big project (158-meters?) is expected to make an appearance at Lurssen possibly in the next month or two. It is being referred to as Project 'Blue' and will have a GT of 15,320. This is just scant preliminary information and my not be totally on the mark.
Now we're getting up there. That's longer than an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer. I wonder what her displacement is.
DrDuu saying on Instagram she might be even longer than the reported 158 meters. Not so long ago a large, 147m Luerssen yacht was sold, so someone might need a new yacht.
Buonasera a tutti qualcuno ha notizie di questo fantastico yacht progetto blue? Grazie saluti a tutti
Fabrizio, non credo ci siano molti Italiani tra i membri del forum, quindi temo che per una speranza di avere qualche risposta dovresti scrivere in Inglese... For the records, I'm just suggesting to this chap that he would have better chances to get some answers if he writes in English.
Ciao Fabrizio benvenuto. I guess that 'project Blue' is the yacht Peter Lurssen was referring to when he was talking about the first Lurssen with fuel cell technology. He said that the yacht will be able to stay more than 15 days at anchor with the night-time power supply on zero-emission mode. In slow cruising mode, instead, the yacht can reach more than 1000 miles with zero emission.
The latest interview with The Boat Show he says there's a very big yacht launching and then another yacht with fuel cell; so this might be that big yacht and not the fuel cell one.
The 158-meter plus superyacht Project 'Blue' might actually make her launch this year if all goes according to plan. Even at this stage very little is known about the large project. There is speculation that launching may be soon but we do not know that for sure.
Due to very small and thin exhaust pipes there is a solid suggestion that new fuel cells are implemented in this Project instead of classic Diesels.
Here we go.... https://www.yachtforums.com/threads/vard-222m-somnio-residential-ship-2024.34892/#post-318057
Looks, to me, like another classic Tim Heywood design....possible replacement for & upgrade of 'Quantum Blue' ??
For illustrative purposes...I am not saying this is the new Eclipse... just showing what I think are some similarities in the design.
