Maybe one day if he can find a yard that will work with him.

Seems that the sweet spot for the largest yachts are now between 130m to 150m

I think...Lurssen will never built a yacht for him..the same can be said for Feadship.
Maybe...he could try with Nobiskrug or Fincantieri.

We've all been waiting for this for a long time and finally we see her. Although not complete and beauty is as always in the eye of the beholder Luna for me is a much better looking and performing yacht. Agree with one of the posters above that she seems shadow/support yachty, very very impressive yacht regardless and I think she'll be a fine one once completed.
Anyone see a bit of a resemblance with her and Scout? I do.
Also the name will remain Solaris as per my source who usually is correct.

What is the reason for this? Disagreements on previous builds, I don't think RA built anything directly with Lurssen, he always bought during or after construction if I recall correct.
As for feadship he built Sussuro and Ecstasea there was there known issues? Please enlighten me. Thanks

Some of those Russian oligarchs are extremly unpleasant contemporaries. I would not say they are all crude fellows but they did not become rich in such a short time because they were nice and gentle persons. IMHO, I would call Mr. A one of those examples. I had my own experience with him and his guests in Port Hercules, when I left the harbour with my boat due to their "performance" on board of his yacht which was moored next to mine.

Assuming that his next "boat" will be even larger than Eclipse, there are not very many yards on this planet, capable of conducting such project. Fincantieri would be for sure one of them and they would definately be willing to accept such an order. Oceanco would may be willing to stepp in too. Feadship most likely not, because of the size of the project and because of the risks involved.

Abeking could not take a project of this size. Their upper limit is around 120 to 125 meters LOA. IMHO, Nobiskrug has learned its lessons with SY "A". Another SY "A" or Eclipse type desaster would be their end. Their investors are at the end of their patience. They want to see profits.

That leaves Luerssen. I would not say that Luerssen will strictly deny an order from Mr. A, if he would agree to accept the Luerssen rules and way of doing things. But I daubt, they would deal directly with him and I daubt, Mr. A would accept this straitjacket. But if he would do so and come indirectly through a project management office like Morgan Yachts and accepts the Luerssen approach of things, may be ???

The Luerssen way is as far as I know: You or Your Representative is approaching Luerssen with an excisting external and internal design (from designers accepted by Luerssen) or accept a design presented by Luerssen. Sign a firm (and I really mean a FIRM contract, prove Your financial abilities for the project, including all banking collaterals and then join the queue. Tricks like he did with Blohm & Voss during the Eclipse project will not work with Luerssen.

And most of all, he would have to accept Luerssen choice for the place of court for any dispute. The trick with the flag state as the place of court will not work again. Since GB is not part of the EU anymore, London or any other commonwealth country are not favorite places of court for German companies.

And finally the flow of funds. Where is that money comming from and through which channels. The rules and laws concerning money-laundering are pretty strict in Germany meanwhile. As long as the money comes from a yacht management account for example, it may be ok.

Just a few humble thoughts of a former business men out of the commercial shipping world.

Fincantieri Yachts has not had a project in a while, in a long time actually. Further more they have only directly built two superyachts..."Serene" and "Ocean Victory". Tonnes of designs have come from them and partnering design firms but nothing turned to a contract to my knowledge so maybe they might be willing to take work on another large project. Because Fincanteri is such a large company with naval, commercial etc business I guess the large yacht side of the business still is there.

Sussurro was ordered by Sheikh A.S. (the first owner of Coral Island and Pelorus), only Ecstasea was ordered by RA.
I don't know if there were any issues but I get the idea that RA is an hard to please person.

For instance, Ecstasea, as far as I know, was ordered by RA - I would assume he chose and approved the designs and features inside and out and was happy with them.
Strangely, a couple of months after her delivery, RA sent her for a refit at B+V. The heli-hangar, which I assume was requested by RA, was always used as a tender garage.

It would be very tough for Mr. A to build a large yacht. I don't know if there is yards outside of Germany or Italy that would take his order. Like a previous poster stated he would have to agree to Lurssens rules in order to build something large.

We probably won't see a new yacht for Mr. A for quite sometime. Eclipse and Solaris might be it for awhile.

It was anounced in the newspapers in northern Germany by the Lloyd Yard Management, that Solaris will be their last large project. So far for REV comming to Bremerhaven.

There is a Youtube video on the net, where REV is cut in half and the hull is extended in the middle quite a bit, because the owner wanted a bigger boat .

And the rumours in the shipbuilding industry are telling that REV has construction- and design-related stability issues. So far for well known northern European yards taking over the completion of REV.

In the video you are talking about, the boat cut in half is not REV OCEAN, but a former Norwegian Crown Cruise ship.
Talking about the guy who posted the video, he is not always well informed about things.
I remember once he said a completely incorrect thing about a well-known yacht, something you can't go wrong...knowing the yacht.
