Hi Lewis and welcome to YachtForums,

If you'll be in Key West for 3 months, you'll need less than 3 days to figure everything out. It's not a large island! The majority of restaurants, bars & shops will be downtown on Duval Street. Among the infamous places are Sloppy Joe’s, Hog’s Breath and the Green Parrot. The second most popular area is the Historic Seaport Wharfs, where you'll find more restaurants & shops. It’s also a good place for yacht watching and we expect a full report when you return. ;) BTW… if you're traveling by motorhome or towing a boat, avoid these areas! The streets are small and the corners are tight.

On the Bahamas… we’ve got some members that have spent more time in the Caribbean then Merv Griffin. I’ll let them chime in, but in the meantime you may want to review the following link for info on marinas & channels in the Bahamas…

    Hi Lewis
I'm new too and from that area, I'ts a small drinking town with a fishing problem. you should make time to visit the Dry Tourtugas and Ft Jefferson about 80 miles west, very private and fun to walk the old fort and light house lots of good fishing , and they really are dry so take all you need :D
I'm sure to go down, I do every other month maybe we'll see each other?

The entire Exuma chain of the Bahamas is definitely worth the effort to visit depending on the type/size of your boat. You will need to have a range of at least 150nm and be able to self-sustain for up to a week for the best trip.

You're the second person to ask... maybe I should consider changing it. :)

No, sorry, The World Is Not Enough is not at all mine... it's simply a very impressive and very fast Millenium. If you click the banner at the very top of the forums (above the "Yacht Forums" banner) you'll find a video of her.
