The story behind the Oceanic 140 by Canados is an interesting one. The yacht has spent more time under construction than most yachts would. The project began back in 2014 and it is 2020 and still the vessel has not hit the water. A major part of this delay had to do with the project stalling as a result of the yard changing hands. Work did resume on the yacht but there was no owner at the time. It appears that the fresh delays are now being attributed to new engines, variants of the CAT C32s that needed to be fitted. In our last update we suggested based on information available at the time the remainder of the superstructure would have been fitted to the vessel towards the end of 2020.

The interior of the yacht is by Michela Reverberi and renderings are now available that suggest how the scheme will possibly materialize. Below is a look at the formal salon and you can see the contrast between creams and darker tones as the general concept for the interior. With large windows, the internal entertainment and social spaces are light-filled.

Guest accommodation -four cabins including two VIPs- remains on the lower deck while the owner is expected to have an upper deck abode. The owner will have an amazing space with the entire deck utilized by them. There is an aft-facing suite that spills on to the aft terrace which is to be used for general relaxation. To the fore in front of the glass windows there are more relaxation areas thanks to built-in seating and padded regions. As the model name suggests, the yacht is intended to be one to roam for great distances and explore. To satisfy this brief, the yacht will have a range of 6,000 nautical miles at 10-knots. The amazing thing is, her top speed is actually expected to be 25-knots. Take a look at her hull shape and that will clue you in. The latest revision to her delivery schedule is now March, 2022.
