Hey crew, I finally found and bought a Post 50. I will be traveling from NY to lauderdale over the next 6 month or so with no particular schedule. I am thinking about stopping in Carolinas somewhere until it get cold then head to lauderdale for winter. I would like to get a teak cockpit floor installed either in the Carolinas area or Florida and also have new interior carpet installed, the latter hopefully in Carolinas. Knowing I am open to schedule and locale if anyone has recommendations on carpet or teak I would appreciate the input. I know carpet is much easier and quicker than the teak job but if I could stop in OBX compared to Charleston for 6-12 weeks and get the jobs done I might as well. If i dont find anythign convenient in carolinas for teak I will just do it in FLL. I asked Yacht Mgmt for a quote but haven't heard back yet.
I would recommend filling out this form and requesting a quote. Teak Decking Systems is a premier supplier and installer of teak. https://www.teakdecking.com/contact-teakdecking-systems-or-teak-decking-systems/
For teak you would have to be at a yachting center. Florida will have the most available suppliers. ObX is way too remote. Beaufort NC will have some suppliers. I think teak is running $100-$130sqft installed. Ouch!
Karl Allen of Riptide Boatworks does warranty work for Viking and I think Jarrett Bay. His work is top notch and he is a honest person who has met every schedule. He is in ‘Wilmington, which up the river is a very good Hurricane hole
