The original Lurssen News thread was locked because it has become too lengthy over the years so a new one has been started. The last entry into the original news thread was about the commonality between the two superyachts with the name "Podium". The Lurssen as well as the new Feadship. Makes me wonder if the brand new 73M "Podium" from Feadship is the successor to the ex. Lurssen "Linda Lou"/"Limelight"/"Podium".
Most likely, it notes the owner is a repeat Feadship customer. In addition to the refit on "Linda Lou", he was also the original owner of the Feadship "Detroit Eagle".
Wasn't the Detroit Eagle originally the Gallant Lady? Possibly you meant to say the owner of the original Detroit Eagle?
There were two Feadships named Detroit Eagle: 116ft - launched as Gallant Lady in 1988 153ft - launched as Detroit Eagle in 2001, later named Sea Racer. She's for sale now with Burgess as Excellence
Luerssen launched a new 90m yacht. Considering her distinct style and the fact that the flags of the United States, Sweden and Hungary were attached to the yacht, I think it's safe to say this is Skat's successor.
It has way too many design elements of the current "Skat" for it not to be the successor! I'm not sure about the bow but I will wait until she is completed.
That boat really shows the signature of Mr. Simony. A new Skat ! Stunning vessel. I am looking forward to her exterior colour.
The Luerssen facility at Bremen Aumund has a severe Covid-19 outbreak with more than 50 employees tested positive. All infected employees belong to a greek sub contractor (a filling, sanding and painting company). This type of work is always subcontracted to those companies from southern Europe.
Update: After testing of more than 1000 employees at Luerssen, 105 workers, all from various subcontractors, have been tested positive on Covid-19. All positvie tested staff are infected with the more aggressive British B.1.1.7 version. A slowdown of current work is expected.
Looks like Lurssen is "unpacking" another project. This time at Blohm & Voss, Dock Elbe 17, Hamburg. (hafennews.de). Could be Sassi number 2.
I think it's her!!! Here they say 'yacht Sissi is uncovered', I think it's a typo https://www.hafennews.de/hamburger-hafen-dock-10/
Lurssen has just revealed that they have a project with fuel cell propulsion. Peter Lurssen said that the owner will be able to spend 15 nights at anchor emission-free
Lurssen has been commissioned to build a 103 metre superyacht named Project JASSJ RWD Design is responsible for both interior and exterior.
I found an interesting document...look at page 3 https://www.drewsmarine.com/files/uploads/content/files/Reference List Yachts_ED01.pdf
