The helm had a matt black finish and it is melting off. Very sticky and comes off in your fingers. Have anyone else seen this and what did they do to fix it? Thanks for any help. Chris.

This is probably the same issue as Ferrari and some other cars produced about 20 years ago have today. Best is to remove the sticky coat and repaint it...

Common problem..so I use the armor all restorer..works great...for about 2 days ,lol.than fade comes back..so recoat that day with 303 uv protectant..and put a towel over the dash..best solution without repainting I have found..

Chris, did you contact Princess about this issue? DO you use a windshield sunshade?

It a common issue to all Princesses. I know of two recent 42 flybridge models and both had it, and also on a ten year old plus.

There is two solutions, or you upholster it and the cheap option to wrap it up.

I think warranty is off in this case, as it is two years. One of the Princess 42 had this problem at five years and spoke to them about it, and they said it was his fault really for letting to much sun inside from the windshield. I mean really?
