2019 FLIBS Float-Out Parade! If you've ever attended the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), you know the big boats on the facedock are med-moored. Not the best vantage point to see sheer lines, so this year we decided to give these beauties the runway they deserve. YF's favorite photographer Tom Serio put an eye in the sky to film the show that comes the day after FLIBS; the Float Out Parade. It takes a good week to get all these boats packed into Bahia Mar, but only a day to empty the slips. Lauderdale residents know this is the best day for yacht-watching. Now you can watch it too!
At first, I thought of suggesting constructive criticism to make the first frames a smooth transition, and then I realized that the sharp transition had a meaning, it was tuned to the rhythm of the music So, in general, there were no comments, it was done perfectly
Hi everyone! Glad to be back on-line at YF. As you all know, attending boat shows is fun but you mostly look at the ars-ends of yachts since they are docked stern-to. The day after offers some good profile viewing as the yachts head out of show central. With drone, GoPro and phone at the ready to film, I spent a few hours capturing the parade. Since my last log-on to YF, I have learned how to make videos (thanks to my daughter's assistance) and offered this one to the YF family. Thanks for the kind notes, they are appreciated. My guess is that Carl and I will collaborate on some new video projects for 2020. Blackbeard, it's a little tricky syncing the video cuts to the music, but well worth it in the final product.
