Boat ramps are fertile miscalculation grounds for trailer boaters. Maybe we rename this thread... Trailer Yachting?
That video is hard to watch. I wonder what they were thinking and what's the story behind such a risky haul.
Perhaps no real damage, gently rolling on to a grass bank and resting at a 45 degree angle. Better lucky than good..
Looks like part(s) the lower unit of the port side IPS drive is missing - plus, the video shows what appears to be lots of water pumping as the boat leaves the water. So, possibly a "time is of the essence" not well thought out "haul out" due to water ingress. Boat operator's luck went from bad to worse for sure, but a single axle trailer for a boat that size?
I did see all that water and thought the same but I didn't catch the drive. Good possibility. I had a quick thought that it might be going to a local boat show with all the goofy graphics.
Hard to tell but appears left trailer wheels departed pavement and may have sunk into the ground starting the rolly poly. Trucker should have stopped while wheels were still on pavement and gone back there and checked/discussed. (Yes, I have a CDL.....)
I think there is a pair of tires on the trailer that got turned the wrong way on the incline for the cab over tractor. The video points it out after about 5 tries to get up the hill. I was surprised at the few support points on the yachts.
