Biggest tender on hydraulic swim platform?

    I see that this Horizon RP110 that was just launched features a 10’10” hydraulic carbon fiber swim platform which is impressive of itself but she packs that with a Scout 255 lxf. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a larger tender being carried that way. Even a lot of 50m mega yachts don’t seem to go that big and usually not going for an actual center console. Are there any other builds that I’m missing?

    Overall, this sounds like a great setup. The owners get a large tender to use, the crew don’t need to mess around with towing it, the insurance companies are happier, and just overall easier handling at the dock and all around. I’d imagine the downside would be the maintenance. I’m sure that there would be some long term concern with the hydraulics given the weight hanging off at the edge of the boat. This just seems to be an interesting setup and I can’t think of another 110’ yacht that sports such a large tender.

    That’s a lot of weight at the stern. I wonder what the cruise speed and fuel burn is. Hopefully Horizon adjusted the balance of the boat.

    I don’t think hydraulics are a concern unlike the leverage on the transom

    Could this boat even get onto a plane now? I feel that platform would create a huge amount of drag.

    Something I always wondered about; Could it be possible to ad a hull section under a stage/platform like this?
    Offering the whole ship added planning and flotation? Near like adding a cockpit extension but the whole stage and hull section is pushed down.
    Extra bonus; beam to length ratio gets better.

    Platforms are usually fairly high and don’t add drag in the water but they sure affect the balance of the boat with all that weight... some boats require big trim tabs to get up on plane

    Am I mistaken or is that shot with the CC a concept CGI? I saw a video of this boat on sea trials and there is nothing on the platform. As far as getting on plane I think Horizon calls this series a semi displacement hull so I don't think it's going to get on plane anyway.

    That’s the real deal. The sea trials just didn’t have the tender onboard.

    My biggest concern would be the trim change of using the yacht with the cc, and using it without. Horizons generally are not great performers for their length, HP, speed (and fuel burn).

    Can’t put hull under the platform because then the platform can’t go down.

    I think it looks like crap. Too many times it will be docked with the tender n and in. My opinion take away from a great place to hang out. But to each their own.

    Too much force would be on it when running and cause it to vibrate itself to death. Also too much buoyancy to put it down for hydraulic rams.
