So looking at that photo, that doesn't appear to be what was originally designed. I think they could just have some sort of cover for the pool that would turn it into another touch and go helipad. I can see the arguement to an extent. It's probably safer landing there than on the bow or they might want a bigger helicopter.
I was browsing that instagram page but I couldn't find the photo, probably it was deleted by the owner of the page. Nonetheless, taking into account who bought Serene, makes sense a space for a larger helicopter and/or fewer open spaces.
Yea I never knew that it could be converted into a helipad.. I saw the photo and that was one of the first things I noticed and it just looked really different to me. Like what nmna said it does make sense to have fewer open spaces for the person who brought Serene.
After being run aground in the Red Sea and being taken back to be worked on she is finally enroute back to the Mediterranean.
"Serene" is back cruising again after a refit period and some work definitely was done. It looks like they took out the heli-hangar and landing area on the bow and made it into one large lounging space. Meanwhile the aft-upper deck convertible helipad is now the permanent pad.
I am not sure...if you are referring to the glimpse of what looks like turquoise tiled infinity edge. The current owner really has reconfigured that foredeck from its original helideck and elevator hangar setup. It looks alot more communal for larger gatherings with relaxed mirrored seating, inline with the culture of the current owner.
Almost didn't recognize her bow area. I do love the new additons. Looks better then a Helicopter pad.
