I open this new thread and took the information from Carl into this thread just to list the single ships in separate items. Lürssen Carinthia VII_001
Good idea Berndt. I deleted the old Gallery thread. By the way, credit for these photos is due Christo303. Thank you Chris! Carl
paint problem can anyone give me some technical details on the paint problem of Carinthia VII. Today she sits in Antibes with an awfull looking hull, quite strange! Could it be a problem with the Awlgrip-blue, as it is rumoured?
Paintwork on a large smooth hulls with high polish deep blue colour always causes some problems. The same problems arisen by Octopus at HDW.
So the Antibes and Golfe Juan rumours are more or less true. Same yachties gossip says Sikkens blue is a much better paint. Any comments? Paint problems cause a lot of maintenance loss at the yards and a lot of time loss for the owners. So it's well worth looking into.
paintwork I think the problem stands from the applicator company.I have seen how they worked.the hull was not painted by spray, but by roller and brush
Carinthia VII was at Valletta, Malta yesterday and is now on the way to Cyprus! We need some pictures of her at some other places than at her berth in Antibes.
Wow - seeing the cars parked at her aft really give you the impression of how awesome in size this vessel is. That is . . . Wow! She is a sight to behold and I am sure a mammoth to pilot.
Has anyone seen any elevations of this vessel? I would like to see the hull contour under the waterline.
Hi, old thread. is she painted awlgrip 'Carinthia Blue'? And was it a custom color named after her? Does anyone know what the problems were? thx
The color shade of Carinthia in Awlgrip Blue is directly related to the boat name.Im sure the first paintjob was Awlgrip. To my info there are some repaints done in between but not sure of which paint system applied on that occasions.
