Looking for a boat slip in southwest Florida that can accolade a 50 ft Hat. Draw is 5 1/2, Beam 16. May require live aboard as we sometimes stay for as long as a week at a time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have similar boat specs. When you say SW Florida I assume fort Myers and areas south. The Cape Coral side of the Caloosahatchie has the very restrictive liveaboard rules which was a problem because we wanted to stay aboard for 10 days or so. Sanibel Marina has a few spots that could take you but call now. Naples City Marina is nice but full for this winter. Marco may have something but I prefer elsewhere. We stayed at Salty Sams in Fort Myers beach one year because we waited too long to make a reservation. Not my preference. We went to long boat Key near Sarasota last year and liked it very much. We are heading back there this year. Is Sarasota SW Florida? Active Captain is/was a good source for finding marinas as you can look up comments. Also forgot about Uncle Henry’s on Boca Grande. That can take you and is in a very pretty spot.
That is good information I really appreciated. Waited too long that is what happened. We are not picky at this point anywhere from Tampa to Marco, I guess. Every place I called is full. We are on the wait list on a few places, however, at this point, not holding my breath.
Tween Waters on Captiva Islands allows live aboard, or at least they did in April. Not sure how full they are.
My wife and I slip our boat at Snook Bight Marina in Ft. Myers Beach. They have great facilities on site, along with a Publix Grocery Store on the same property. We love the floating docks.
I own a slip downtown naples and it is a liveaboard. 72 x 19 the dilema is that my house where i keep my boat is for sale and if it sells I will need the slip. My guess is you would have it for a while as my house is over priced.
