We have to remember, Lasdrop was the first (or close) in the flax-less log devices (cost reduced) available. I viewed their web sight and they offer nothing close to the original devices. I wonder if the company went thru a change. They saved my rear parts on an ole Striker many (many) years ago.
That's the surprising part , if one gives credence to their website product reviews and users list perhaps others past experiences where based on different management style. Further research is needed as the vessel I am looking at has had the seals installed last year. appreciate the feedback as always.
Is this thread going to continue on without correction? Lasdrop is sold by Nautical Specialties. Not Nautical Structures.
Either way, the correct site comes up in the web search. Of course we don't want to call out Nautical Structures incorrectly. They have their own problems.
I used the Lasdrop Gen II seals and was very happy with them for a year before selling the boat. I replaced 5 year old Tides lip seal assembly and still couldn't stop the leaking so I changed to Lasdrop. In all fairness, it may have been a yard issue, not the seal itself. Twin Crusader 8.1 385hp gassers. I would not hesitate to use Lasdrop again.
Thank you Ralph. Nautical Structures is not Nautical Specialties. That said we have had to deal with brand name confusion for quite a while. For a very long time Nautical Structures depended upon using qualified sub contractors to provide our factory service to our clients. Over time we realized how doing this made us very vulnerable to both others' quality control and customer service. The sins of others were being cast upon ourselves! Two years ago Nautical Structures established our own dedicated Service Department, with offices located in our Largo, Florida factory and in our Ft. Lauderdale Service Center. In September of 2017 we also opened a service center in Barcelona, Spain in the MB92 shipyard. Today our Service Department is headed by Ron Beilman.
Thank you RER. This is true. Nautical Structures Industries has no association with Nautical Specialties.
